Description
“GMC-300E-PLUS” It is a small, economical Geiger counter made in the USA, which has various measurement functions. It is equipped with a graphic LCD display “Dot Matrix” and a Boron silicate Geiger tube: M4011, capable of sensing Beta radiation, Gamma and X-rays.

The Geiger Counter “GMC-300E-PLUS” it can be used generically to verify the possible presence of radioactivity in the environment, in the ground, on building materials, like granite, brick flooring tiles, cement, pozzolana, tufo etc.
It can measure both instantaneous and average levels of radioactivity, furthermore it can also show the graphic trend in the time domain. E’ equipped with a buzzer, emits an audible alarm if high radioactivity values are acquired. It is also equipped with an internal 3.7V battery and a USB socket to be recharged from a PC or a 220V mains adapter (not provided).

The measurements were performed by adopting a reference to Natural radioactivity of approximately 20~40 CPM

– On glass cup with traces of Uranium 238U: 320 CPM
– Su Uranium ore 238U: 2905 CPM
– On Standard 5uCi radioactive source : 26500 CPM
